Very interesting Margot. I actually lived 4 doors up in Roseville at one stage and was always fascinated in the story of the castle. Well done - very informative.

Hi Margot. Very interesting and lovely piece! Thanks for posting it. Although it saddens me how many of these beautiful and iconic buildings we have lost around the harbour. Do you have a picture of the house that currently sits on the property?
Also it's nice to know who designed the monument in St Josephs Cemetery - thank you. I have walked passed it so many times to where my grandfather and several generations of the Hennessys are interred and never knew!

This beautiful photograph is a very realistic portrayal of the sinking of the Titanic and of the many Irish men and women who of necessity who had to leave our country. It depicts deep sadness but the lovely sunset ,brings us hope for all mankind,

Hi Kathleen, Michael takes the Spike Island tours nearly every day at 2 p.m. Your best bet is to give him a call to make sure he will be doing the tour. You can check out his new web site for details on www.titanic.ie

Hi Alan – I am afraid not. The castle was knocked down in 1962 and the house we live in was built on the site back then. Apparently it was still in pretty good nick when it was knocked. I will put the only image that I have up on the blog soon. Margot
